The Center for MiBSM - Certification

____________________________________________

CERTIFICATION :

If you keep up with the classes and do the exercises, you can become a Certified Instructor of Mental imagery Based Stress Management (MiBSM)

We have varying ranks of MiBSM certification with varying levels of time commitment and training.   Choose the certification fits you!

          * Great for the resume
          * Comes with a certificate of completion
          * Get a letter of recommendation

THREE  LEVELS  OF  CERTIFICATION :

All ranks of certification require that a participant has become proficient in workshop techniques by successfully doing the homework exercises that accompany each of the 6-Steps to "Living in the Moment."   By doing so, a participant will have acquired the necessary skills to become  self-sufficient in MiBSM and be able to experience those  concepts in everything they do.

  • Level 1  -   Assistant Teacher

Description :   Stay inspired by inspiring others

Many who have become self-sufficient in MiBSM have  expressed an                     interest in sharing their experiences with others.  In order to enable                     MiBSM graduates to teach others, the  center provides  a Teacher's
Training Program that gives participants an  "Insider's view" of the
logical flow of the first 4-Steps to "Living in the Moment."

In order to determine fluency in MiBSM techniques, the Assistant
Teacher program requires participants to take an entrance
exam.   Furthermore, in order to determine a participant's ability to
teach MiBSM techniques, participants must take part in
a 3-hour training seminar where participants are matched in pairs
in which they  practice teaching each other the first 4-Steps until
                    they are proficient.

After gaining teaching confidence and expertise in the training
seminar, participants must then teach 12 classes on their own.  This is
done by teaching the first 4-Steps of MiBSM to 3 learning-groups,
teaching one-step per week over the course of four weeks.

In order to verify their teaching capabilities, upon concluding the
4-Steps, participants must administer Vanderbilt University’s Center
                    for Teaching SALG
assessment-survey to their students.

Certified Assistant Teachers are eligible to become a:

  • Level 2  -   Assistant Instructor

Description :   Preparing to become a Certified Instructor

The Assistant Instructor Program is open to certified Teaching
Assistants and works with in the same framework as the Teaching
Assistant Program where participants get an  "Insider's view" of the
logical flow of the last 4-Steps to "Living in the Moment" - Steps 5 and
6, the Final Step, the Plenary Session and the Conclusion.

Like the Assistant Teacher Program, the Assistant Instructor
Program requires participants to take an entrance exam.

In addition, in order to determine a participant's ability to teach
MiBSM techniques and exercises, participants must take part in

MiBSM Life Coaching Program where participants practice
teaching the last 4-Steps until they are proficient.

In order to verify their teaching capabilities, upon concluding the
4-Steps, participants must administer Vanderbilt University’s Center
for Teaching SALG assessment-survey to their students.

  • Level 3 - Certified Instructor

Description :     Teach your own Self-management workshop
Run your own Teacher's Training Program

This workshop provides participants with the knowledge,
understanding and practical application of original source material
                    so that
they can become  Certified Instructors and teach their own
                    MiBSM workshop.

Certified Instructors must have already taken both of the Teacher's
Training courses above and the MiBSM Life Coaching Program.
